About JD Dodds Plant & Machinery Valuers
Established in Mackay, Queensland in 1973 by Jeffery D Dodds, the company serviced the needs of the growing region and soon expanded to have offices up and down the regional east coast of Queensland.
While our roots began with property valuation, JD Dodds soon realised there was an obvious demand for a specialised Plant and Machinery division which could operate independently from the parent company. By its nature Plant and Machinery valuation is very different to property valuation, it requires a different methodology and skill set to produce reliable valuations. In 2006 the Plant and Machinery division was developed and now runs completely independent.
Because JD Dodds Plant and Machinery Valuers are solely independent it allows us to provide cost effective solutions and fast, efficient turn around for our clients. We strive to provide our clients with the utmost highest quality of professionalism to ensure we deliver substantiated accurate reports. Our Valuers have a combined knowledge base of 124 years in the field and together have the experience to value any type of asset no matter how obscure the industry sector.

Bruce McKenzie
JD Dodds Plant and Machinery – Director

Bruce, our Director and senior Valuer, has over 40 years experience in the industry with all types of Plant and Machinery. He is a qualified Automotive Engineer with a Diploma in Marketing from the Ford Motor Company, has worked in the automotive and forestry/earthmoving industry and was the National Manager of an overseas Caterpillar Dealership for several years.
Always seeking to advance and strengthen his knowledge, Bruce also gained his commercial pilots licence, Aircraft Maintenance Controller and Gas Turbine qualifications. With these qualifications Bruce gained experience with over fifty different types of aircraft, making him a considerable asset to the company, as with this knowledge it makes him one of very few people in the country with the correct experience and qualifications to deliver sound and accurate Valuations on such items.
In his spare time Bruce has been involved with the World rally championship as an engineer and driver, now building his own race cars, and being an avid competitor in the local classic motorsport/hill climb fraternity.
Graham Wickings

Certified Machinery & Equipment Valuer
Graham joined the JD Dodds plant and machinery division in 2010 and is responsible for over 350 valuations. A qualified tradesman with experience in the manufacturing, plastic injection and metal fabrication industry, Graham went on to work in the automotive industry and metal die-casting industries before branching off and working for various Government sectors and owning two enterprises himself.
Graham’s experience in valuation began through business broking and the need to value Plant and Equipment in business sales.
He achieved certification as a Senior Business Analyst and became a Certified Machinery and Equipment Appraiser through the NEBB institute practising under USPAP regulations as part of business valuation. During this period, Graham has gained extensive experience in the Automotive, Road Transport, Railway, Agricultural, Mining, Manufacturing, Marine, Earthmoving, Mobile Cranes and lifting equipment industry sectors.
